Poor Plumbing Practices and Plumbing Hazards

Common errors include wrong connections or wrong sealing procedures, which may occur in certain cases when two different types of plastic pipes are tied together with a cement that blend with only one of pipe and not the other.

Plastic pipe might be an issue, because rats can bite through them. If an S-trap is fitted incorrectly, it is usually hard to vent. The seal may be wrecked by unvented gases expanding. Which may direct to possible explosions and smells.

The T-type trap is a much better trap if vented properly. Where the municipal water supply is used in cooling the heat replace unit, problem happens when the water pumped from the cooling tower to the heat replace unit does not working properly because of a system pumping break. Problem happens when too small pipe is used over a extended distance.

Resistance among the water and pipe decreases the amount of energy in the water traveling through the pipe. Gate valves have been used wrongly for steam when they must be used for water only. Globe valves have been used wrongly for water, and must be used for steam only. One of the most horrible hazards that we deal with is the common garden hose, which is continually abused.

Countless fixture may comprise plumbing hazards. They differ from laboratory aspirators to chemical feeders to coffee pots, dishwashers, swimming pools, bath-tub, drinking jets, garbage-can washers, icemakers, steam tables and vegetable peelers.

Most plumbing troubles leading to cross connection are caused by false workmanship, scarce understanding of prevention techniques by skilled people, or lack of understanding by the community as they exploit the water distribution system.
